Rachael Soroka has worked professionally in the violin repair field since 2000. Rachael received her training in repair and restoration from master craftsmen such as Peter Horn in Cleveland, Valerio Mongillo in Vermont, and Hans Nebel in New York. She studied violin making with John Moroz in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rachael worked in Burlington, Vermont for four years, where she was the head of the repair workshop. She spent two years polishing her skills in the workshop of Roland Feller in San Francisco.

Since 2008, Rachael has operated her own repair-only shop in Oakland, California, working for local musicians as well as clients from all around the United States.

Her extensive experience working directly with musicians allows her to optimize the sound and playability of each instrument and for each musician’s personal style. Her specialty is in providing an instrument that looks its best, sounds its best, works for the player, and is structurally healthy.
